Doghouse

Look I know we've been a bit quiet here at FOF but believe it or not we do actually have fucking lives. Mr F is currently in the Middle East buying their oil reserves in his ongoing quest for world domination, the Snake has been vetting a long line of Ladyboys for his personnal Harem and I just can't be fucked as I'm a lazy cunt who prefers to watch facials on the internet than bother giving you fuckers any joy. However Mr F has threatened violence if I don't give you something to read and although I'm more afraid of the Boss than him I thought fuck it I've got 10 minutes to spare so why not.
Doghouse is the latest film from on the up director Jake West. If you don't know who he is then look him up and watch in particular Evil Aliens a great piece of low budget comedy horror. This man has style and paid attention whilst watching those old horrors he obviously loves. Mr Pegg take fucking note you cock! Now I must say that Doghouse is far from perfect but it is fucking great fun and never takes its self seriously. So a little background might help I guess.
Vince (Stephen Graham) is a man on the edge and living in a shit pit flat whilst his divorce goes through. Fuck me I've been there and its not fucking pretty. I digress. His pals including the chauvenistic Neil (Danny Dyer) and Mikey (Noel Clarke) decide to take him away for a boys weekend in the country. Unbeknown to them the village of Moodley where they are headed has been used as a experimental area for the military to test a new bacterial weapon that turns all the women into "Zombirds".![]()
What follows is 90 minutes of sheer mayhem as the lads arm themselves with whatever they can find to fight off the hordes of man hating cannibal zombies. Imagine a night out in Newcastle and you'll be quite close to the feel of it! Heads are removed, fingers taken off with an electric bread knife and a whole variety of limb lopping, disembowelling fun. This is a film with its tongue firmly in its rotting cheek. Snappy one liners and even some that make you groan help the films pace and remind you this is not a film to criticise for its stupidity. Fuck its knows it stupid but thats the fun of it. To see a collection of "Zombirds" including a lollipop lady, a bride, a fat mayors wife and Mikeys ex-girlfriend (his nan lives in the village) makes you quickly realise that this is Friday night after the pub fodder.
This is not for everyone and if you're favourite director is Steven "boring as fuck" Soderbergh then I would avoid this like a weekend break in the Aghan mountains. If however like me you love a bit of cheap and cheerful schlok then this will be one to catch. I'm sure many will see it and say its crap, blah, blah, blah but it matters not to me for as I said earlier I really don't give a fuck.

Great laugh, enjoyed it start to finish, like you say might not be for everyone but if you're in on a Friday and just want some gory entertainment, this fits the bill
