There Will Be Blood DVD Review - AMAZING

Click to enlargeThere were two films which came out earlier this year at a similar time which I wanted to see, one was No Country For Old Men and the other was There Will Be Blood. I managed to see No Country and it was a fucking legend of a film and made it into my all time top 50 films at number 5, but like a total twat I put off There Will Be Blood which I now fucking regret as this should have been seen in the cinema.

I'd like to blame wench by giving her a good old donkey punch but it was my fault, its pretty fucking obvious that it was going to rule, Daniel Day Lewis does not make shit films, check his IMDb page and it is legend film after legend film, including:

• Gangs of New York
• In The Name Of The Father
• The Last Of The Mohicans
• My Left Foot

It is difficult to describe how good Day Lewis is as Daniel Plainview, it is an astounding performance, fucking brilliant, genius, fucking legendary, fuck fuck fuck fuck ffffffffffucking brilliant. Seriously think of the best ever acting performances you have seen, Pacino in Scarface, this is better, De Niro in The Godfather, this is better, even Arnie in Kindergarten Cop, this is better, though there is not much in it. I discussed this with my old man and he reckons that Lewis was better in My Left Foot but he is wrong, although My Left Foot was a great film it was one of those obvious award performances that tugged on the heart strings. It is much harder playing a total cock.

Click to enlargeThere will be blood is a story of greed and religion where Daniel Plainview rises from Silver mining to corporate oil mining monster. Now lets not fuck about here, Plainview is a total wanker, the worst kind wanker, greedy fucking wanker. When his son is deafened he puts him on a train and fucks off as he can't be bothered to look after him. That kind of wanker.

The film is a battler between Plainview and the village preacher, played by the brilliant Paul Dano from Little Miss Sunshine, where Plainview manipulates the preacher and his family for his end goal of black gold. Though Plainview is depicted as a greedy man its not financial greed which drives him, rarely do you see him enjoying the fruits of his labour, it is power greed that drives him. Plainview wants to fuck everyone.

I can't fucking recommend this enough. Buy it, rent it or steal it, I couldn't give a fuck just make sure you watch it. 

Shit in your mouth this is brilliant out of 5
