Alice In Wonderland Review By Jimmy G

Our good friend and resident fucking knob jockey Jimmy G has done FOF a review of Tim Burton film Alice In Wonderland. It's quite interesting what he has to say (it's not really he doesn't half go on) and I have noticed very mixed reviews about it. Of course stating he's playing the game on the DS has probably opened him up to a little bit of cussing from the Snake who being a serious gamer would probably set fire to the DS in a fit of gaming rage. Me, I'm off to play Bioshock after I've knocked one out over my Kate Beckinsale collection.

Alice In Nowhereland?

You might have seen this bunch of putrid giraffe bollocks on the news in the last 24 hours but I thought I'd fill you in on what's been going on. You may know the premiere of Alice is at Odeon Leicester Square tomorrow night but it would appear that this is the only Odeon cinema that it will be shown at. Odeon and Disney have placed their handbags on the floor of the disco and are slapping each other around the face in the first Cinema chain, studio face off of the 21st century. So what's it all about? Well you may have the knowledge that there is a 17week gap between cinema release and DVD but Disney want to reduce that to 12 so they can cash in quickly. Odeon are very upset by this and a spokesman for Odeon who was weeping into his herbal tea said  "The negative impact on cinema attendance will threaten the existence of cinemas, especially smaller ones." As usual I have an opinion on this rather fucking pathetic row and it's this.... what a load of fucking bullshit. Let's be honest here how long is a film shown for anyway? Unless it's a film of Avatar like proportions the chances are it will only show for about 4-6 weeks anyway and if it's an independent film it may be as little as a week if at all. As for having the fucking nuts to even mention smaller cinemas it made me fucking choke on my coffee. It's chains like Odeon that have all but destroyed the smaller cinemas. My message is clear to Odeon. Pick up your toys and fucking grow up. Do you think Disney give a shit what you think? Just show the fucking film and stop being gay. Cunts!

Alice

The Hood trailer and this one are TV spots from the Superbowl which is where two large groups of men pad themselves up and hit each other in game that seems to last for three days. It's like Rugby League but more boring.

Mad Hatter

I saw the 3D trailer of this last night and I have to say it looks fucking stunning. 2010 is shaping up very nicely indeed but then we say that every fucking year and it disappoints but this really does look fantastic. Check out the new Mad hatter poster below.

Weirdly Wonderful

Next up is the new poster for Alice In Wonderland. I can't wait for this fucker as I just love the weird shit. It also happens to be my favourite book and having read it at different points in my life it's read differently each time. I'd say Burtons version is when I read it in the early 90's!

Alice In Wonderland

This has found its way onto the internet and fuck me am I excited. Burton is one of the most original directors out there and this story really does give him the opportunity to fucking let loose and this short teaser seems to show him doing just that. Fucking genius.

Burtons Finest Moment?

With the release of Alice In Wonderland next year I'm wondering if this could be his finest moment. I mean love him or hate him at least he has an eye for detail and the ability to keep you interested. Check out these releases from the film and fuck me with a pitchfork if he hasn't completely captured the true essence of the book. Carrols' Alice In Wonderland is one of my favourite all times books and I always thought the adaptations so far were a little sugary sweet which the book is not. See the image below and then check out the rest courtesy ofthe Vancouver Sun. I know its a bit of a weird one to get them from. Things I fucking do for you lot! Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland
