Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at 08:32AM George Romero is a fucking zombie legend, if he ever met some zombies I don't think they would eat his brains out of respect for his knowledge and love of the living dead. I never saw Diary Of The Dead, it just didn't appeal to me but I loved Land Of The Dead and the Dawn Of The Dead (as a writer) is one of my fav films ever.

So when I heard that he is currently making another <Fill in the blanks> Of The Dead I could only smile and this time it is Island Of The Dead. First Showing.net reports the plot as:
"Shooting has begun in Ontario, which surrounds inhabitants of an island off the coast of North America who must decide whether to kill or preserve (for a cure) their re-animated dead relatives."

Diary Of The Dead was another one of Romero's social commentaries and wipes the zombie-splattered floor with LOTD! It suffers slightly for coming after Cloverfield, whose use of the "hand-held" style was better, but it's well worth a watch and is an awesome return to form for the zombie maestro!
I think LOTD was a beautiful zombie movie as you end up liking the zombies more than the humans.
Diary Of The Dead is similar in that it poses the question: are we (the humans) worth saving?
