Films You Should Fucking See
Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at 08:45PM Ok welcome to this new FOF feature and as I said I'm not going to tell you fuckers to suck eggs although I may point you in the direction of a few you're aware of already but I hope to show you that there are good films out there and with Hollywood churning out shitball after shitball you can still find plenty to occupy your time. Sit back fuckers and here are five to get you fucking started.
1.Dead Mans Shoes (2004)
Shane Meadows at his absolute fucking finest with one of the best revenge films ever made. Disaffected soldier Richard played by the fucking amazing Paddy Considine returns to his hometown to extract revenge on the bastards who tormented his mentally ill brother. Bleak, funny and downright menacing this is the British film of this decade that you should see or I'm going to cut your fucking face off with a rusty pair of scissors.
2.The Woodsman (2004)
A pedophile returns home after serving twelve years in prison and tries to readjust to normal life. Kevin Bacon turns in the performance of his life and it's as far from fucking Footloose as you can get. Difficult to watch? You're damn fucking right it is but my god is it fucking worth it. Does everyone deserve a second chance? It will certainly make you think. One of the bravest pieces of film making I've ever seen. Just don't watch it as a double bill with Hard Candy!
3.Almost Famous (2000)
I'm sure alot of you fuckers have seen this but if you haven't what the fuck have you been doing? Cameron Crowe captures an era of rock and excess to perfection. Beautifully shot, a great soundtrack and a cast that has gone on to great things. One of the best films about music ever made. I am a golden god!
4. 12 Angry Men (1957)
The fucking greatest film set in one room ever! A fucking classic. If you haven't seen it you should be a little ashamed of yourselves. Henry Fonda, Lee J.Cobb, Jack Warden and others all directed with sheer brilliance by Sidney Lumet. When your nan says they don't make em like they used to this is what she fucking means. Cruise and co could never pull off the scene below.
5. Zwartboek (2006)
You know all his films from Robocop to Total Recall to Starship Troopers but how many of you fuckers know that Verhoevens finest film is probably Zwartboek or Black Book in English. A Jewish singer goes undercover for the Dutch resistance to infiltrate Gestapo headquarters. I love this mans films but this is his most accomplished. Genius.
