Predators in Film Posters Monday, March 15, 2010 at 09:53AM The SXSW Festival is on in the States at the moment and it's always around this time of year the geeks start getting raging hard-ons for the upcoming SCI-FIs. And this year is no fucking different. Up first, a sneak peak at the new, Robert Rodriguez produced, Predators film.
After recently playing the Aliens Vs Predator game, of which the Predator storyline was by far the best, I'm really looking forward to this. I watched Predator 2 (Danny Glover FTW) again at the weekend and I think there's a great story to tell here if they incorporate more of the Predator folk-lore. And with Adrian Brody and Larry Fishburne in tow, at least it won't fail because of the acting.

I was hoping it was going to be lame like the rest because I fancied a bit of a fucking moan but it's actually quite good. Maybe the internet's not full of such retards after all.

This news is only just breaking so exact details are still a little sketchy, but according to a number of sources The Lost Boys star was found dead in his apartment of an apparent accidental drug overdose in the early hours of this morning. Corey Haim, aged 38, shot to fame in the 80s after a string of hits with the half of the "Corey duo", Corey Feldman.
Although he'll be remembered most for The Lost Boys, an ever growing franchise with a third installment in the works that was to star both Coreys, I always liked Stephen King's Silver Bullet, in which Haim starred alongside Gary Busey as a disabled kid who believed a werewolf was behind a string of gruesome murders in a small town. Not the best film in the world but how many times have you seen a kid in a motorised wheelchair with flames painted on it going up against a fucking werewolf? That's right, none! Gertcha!

Corey Haim, R.I.P in News Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at 10:01AM I have no fucking interest in this film what so ever but I had to bring you this latest casting rumour as it's really fucking out there. The Smurfs 3D film (fucking shoot me now) has already lined up Jonathan Winters as Papa Smurf, Katie Perry as Smurfette, George Lopez as Grouchy Smurf and Neil Patrick Harris as the human in the film. However new addition Alan Cummings has revealed, although how true it is I don't know that a certain Quentin Tarantino is being lined up to voice Brainy Smurf. Now I think we all respect the director skills of Mr Tarantino (he's a genius) but his acting skills leave alot to be fucking desired. The Smurfs is up there with the fucking Chipmunks for me in annoying childrens characters and I fucking hope this film bombs so we don't get a sequel unless of course Mr Cameron decides he can use their tiny blue arses for Avatar 2.

Our good friend and resident fucking knob jockey Jimmy G has done FOF a review of Tim Burton film Alice In Wonderland. It's quite interesting what he has to say (it's not really he doesn't half go on) and I have noticed very mixed reviews about it. Of course stating he's playing the game on the DS has probably opened him up to a little bit of cussing from the Snake who being a serious gamer would probably set fire to the DS in a fit of gaming rage. Me, I'm off to play Bioshock after I've knocked one out over my Kate Beckinsale collection.

There seems to be a fair bit of whining this morning about The Hurt Locker winning the big awards last night as alot of people think Avatar should have won. In my usual not giving a fucking shit what everyone thinks I'm afraid I disagree. The Hurt Locker was without doubt one of last years best films and although I enjoyed Avatar it was still at the end of the day just really pretty to look at and was generally a mix up of all his previous sci-fi films. I'm sure you all thought they were the hunter killer ships from Terminator. Cameron has had Oscar success in the past so is it really that bad that someone else was recognised for a fucking great film? Good to see Waltz win one for Basterds as it was my favourite performance last year and I'm glad Precious got one to. Review coming soon. So it's all over for another year and lets hope this year gives us some more great films to keep us fucking entertained so until next year just fuck off because I don't want to fucking discuss it so I'll leave you with this comment I saw on a forum "giving an Oscar to Avatar would be like giving a Michelin star to McDonalds".

An animated film about owls just doesn't appeal but fucking unbelievably it's from Dawn Of The Dead and Watchmen director Zack Snyder. This is definately a different direction for him and I watched the trailer expecting something violent to happen but as usual I was disappointed. Oh well I'm sure my son will enjoy it.

So here's a review of The Horseman for you which I'm pretty sure is the kind of film you fuckers will enjoy. I've still got quite a few more reviews to get up and if I have time I may even go and see Alice In Wonderland later and report back on that. So have a good weekend fuckers whatever you're doing as I'm off shortly to see a man who will determine whether I'm still insane or if I can be finally released back into society. Now I just need to find that hockey mask.

Since last years The Wrestler Mickey Rourke has appeared in shitloads of films and I for one am not fucking complaining. This man is a talent and despite going to hell and back he's managed to ressurect himself with what appears to be the help of a small dog. Anyhow soon to be going toe to toe with Iron Man as Whiplash he just last week signed on to play Conans dad in the new adaptation. Now I've read he's to play villian King Hyperion in Tarsem Singh's War Of the Gods. Singh directed the beautiful looking but weird as fuck The Fall so it will no doubt look good. The story is that a group of warriors face up against a load of right fucking nasty evil gods in order to save humanity. Think Legion meets 300 with a bit of Clash of the Titans. Just because it has Rourke I will probably watch it.
Mickey Rourke, Tarsem Singh, War Of the Gods in News Thursday, March 4, 2010 at 02:15PM Without question Romero is the fucking Zombie king, however in recent years Zombie films have moved on a bit with the likes of REC and Zombieland. These films obviously owe a huge debt to Romero but it seems he's now struggling to get his films seen because of it. As far as I'm aware Survival Of The Dead is not getting a cinema release here and is going straight to DVD which is a shame but I guess things move on. See what you think of the new trailer anyway.
Thursday, March 4, 2010 at 02:02PM This is as the Snake said all looking a little high gloss for my liking. Most great horror films are good because they feel raw. Evil Dead, Texas Chainsaw, Halloween etc etc. The moment you seem to put a HD camera into it they just lose their edge and that's a shame. The only thing that might save this is Freddy himself.
